With the support from several Northwest representatives including Senator Patty Murray (WA-D) and Congressman Earl Blumenauer (OR-D), Congress passed all provisions of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008.  The new act will fund sustainability education at higher education institutions.  It has been 18 years since the last federal program to fund environmental education at the university level was passed.  For more information click here.
